Ducks in a Row

words and music by Gracie Bell

She’s got all her ducks in a row
Nowhere else she’d rather go
Found it hard just to leave the car
Leaving the ground was going too far

She’ll say to be proud of where you are
Not everyone gets to touch the stars
The higher you go the harder the drop
But if you still want a view from the top

That’s okay
Travel safe little bird

In a pilot’s hands instead of yours
I’ve had a fear of flying
Cause I don’t know how it works
And I’m always prepared for the worst

Side by side with the clouds
Leaving shadows on our little town
Like sun-stripped empty patches
Where I left you with a box of matches

The farther I go the more I want to stop
Since I got a view from the top

I’m okay

Realizing what I want to save
Are the reasons I should have stayed

Should you ever say
That you need take some time to escape
I’ll wait
With open arms, as long as it takes

It’s okay
Travel safe little bird
