My Flat World

words and music by Gracie Bets

Love in life is a balancing act
From the tallest height if the world was flat
I’d fall right off the edge
Land on my knees on the other side
Like a magnet, gravity puts me right
It’s just another ledge

All the signs fell into line
Just outside my frame of mind
Letting go of my mistakes
Hold my breath and push away

Unsettled at first without a sound
No new tight rope to wrap my arms around
Nowhere to set my sights
But the swallowing black void of sky subsides
Opening for a new starry paradise
And I can feel the pull of a new high

The ground was my sky
When life was tilted too far to the side
I realized just who it revolved around
Now that everything’s changed
Perfectly rearranged
You made my flat world round
